Valentine’s Meal Ideas – Romantic Meal for Two.

When it comes to Valentine’s Day, a romantic meal for two should always be on the menu. Whether you are eating out or spending an evening at home together, enjoying each other’s company whilst sharing a meal is a great way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. We take a look at some romantic meal options that you can create at home.

Valentine’s Meal Starters.

Romantic Meal IdeasFor a special meal, you may want to consider an aphrodisiac such as oysters, these can be prepared in a number of ways and make the perfect starter. Of course, not everyone is a fan of seafood and especially the texture and taste of oysters, so preparing a simple soup with homemade bread, or for a vegetarian/vegan option, choose freshly prepared and cooked asparagus tips with a hollandaise sauce or a freshly prepared niçoise or Caesar salad. Choosing a light starter, so not to fill up before your Valentine’s meal mains or Valentine’s dessert doesn’t leave you full is something you should also consider.

Valentine’s Mains.

One of the traditional Valentine’s mains has to be steak, you can prepare this with hassle back potatoes or thrice cooked chips and serve with a salad or freshly cooked seasonal vegetables. As a vegetarian/vegan option then consider a cauliflower steak, still full of flavour and delicious but completely meat-free. What we do recommend with your Valentine’s main is to not overload the plates, try and keep the meal light (as well as the other courses.) At the end of the meal, you don’t want to feel too bloated and then just fall asleep. (Not the most romantic thing to do.)

Valentine’s Dessert.

For Valentines Day, a dessert should be rich, opulent and the perfect finish to the meal. Chocolate tends to be a winner, so a chocolate gateau or molten chocolate pudding is a perfect choice, Not a chocolate lover then consider a sundae with fresh fruit and ice cream. For an even more romantic finish to the meal consider a sharing dessert, one dish and two spoons.
